MP3: Bobby Brackins – “Joy Ride” ft. Austin Mahone

The Song:

It’s almost bikini season and once again, Grammy-nominated hitmaker Bobby Brackins, known for co-writing playlist favorites “2On” and “Loyal,” has your summer anthem locked in. Linking with pop star Austin Mahone, Bobby Brackins is sharing “Joy Ride” from his forthcoming …To Live For EP via Galore Mag. Clocking in at under 3 minutes, “Joy Ride” is short, sweet, and full of good summer vibes.

“This is a Bay Area smash hit,” Austin Mahone told Galore in their premiere post. “My ideal joyride situation is to be with my girl, Katya in my i8, heading to South Beach.” Bobby Brackins added, “Going on a joyride means living life in the moment with no real plans, just cruising to an area where anything goes. It can be a stimulating encounter… I just love cruising to fun places listening to good music. Driving does not have to be boring — it should be entertaining and eventful. Joyriding is not sitting in traffic stressed out. It’s being carefree, and going with the flow. It can also be a wild bedroom type of activity… it’s a double entendre.”

With a proven track record of co-writing hits including Tinashe‘s “2 On,” Chris Brown‘s “Loyal,” and Ty Dolla $ign’s E-40-assisted “Saved,” Bobby Brackins has established himself as an architect of the new California sound for years. Brackins also reunited with his old tour DJ, DJ Mustard, in late 2015, to co-write “In My Room,” a collaboration with DJ trio Yellow Claw featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Young Money rapper Tyga. Now, the Bay Area native, LA-based Bobby Brackins is gearing up for a trilogy EP release, … To Live For, … To Kill For, and … To Die For, first sharing his “Faithful” single with Ty Dolla $ign at the top of the year via Interview Magazine… To Live For features a powerhouse roster of artists Bobby’s worked with over the years as a songwriter including Ty Dolla $ign, Zendaya (for whom he wrote her first hit single, “Swag It Out” in 2011,) Eric Bellinger, Austin Mahone, Jeremih, G-EazyMarc E. Bassy, Wash, and his budding artist, Mina. Stay tuned for the project, slated to release next Friday, May 13th.
