MP3: Booty Fade – “T.Y.B.” Ft. Yung Nation

SPIN Premieres New Remix Of Yung Nation’s “Shawty Wassup” By Dallas Production Duo Booty Fade

The Song :

Producers DJ Sober and PICNICTYME, who together make up Booty Fade, have been making waves throughout the Dallas scene with their Big Bang parties and their own brand of uptempo twerk-inducing creations and remixes. Today SPIN premiered their latest track, “T.Y.B.,” a rework of Dallas group Yung Nation’s hit single “Shawty Wassup.” The song was a natural choice to add to their growing catalogue of party music and the concept of their debut EP, due out September 10th. DJ Sober explains, “Yung Nation’s manager, Merk, attended one of my parties where I DJ and Picnic hosts. He really liked the energy and what we had going on. When he sent us the accapella, we knew we could do some damage.”

Since releasing their first hit single, “F#$k Like a Stripper,” Booty Fade has become the face of Dallas party music worldwide, and their growing notoriety couldn’t have come at a better time, as mainstream American and international popular culture’s obsession with the twerk movement is at an all time high and shows no signs of tapering off. This has given the duo the opportunity to introduce their local music movement and their particular style of remixing—which for their first EP samples vocals over new productions rather than simply tweaking the original track—to a much wider audience. “So far, we’ve sampled nothing but Dallas artists,” says PICNICTYME, “The coolest thing about Booty Fade is that it serves as a bridge between the commercial and indie scenes. It has opened the door to collaborations and relationships that may not have happened otherwise. A bonus is that we get to turn folks who don’t know anything about Dallas music on to our scene.”

Booty Fade Background:

Booty Fade, the production duo who took their name from a popular haircut, are gaining attention for their hometown of Dallas, Texas with their club music collaboration. The two halves of Booty Fade, PICNICTYME and DJ Sober, are no newcomers to the Dallas rap scene. Separately, the two have worked with A.Dd+, the Cannabinoidsthe PartyPPT, and events like the Big Bang parties. When the duo discovered that they shared an interest in making party music, Sober and Picnic formed Booty Fade as a way for them to step out of their indie rap personas and create something new. The duo take regional styles from all over to craft their dance floor tracks, which quickly grabbed the attention of their city with their first release “F#$k Like a Stripper.” Their debut EP is due out September 10th.
