MP3: J Stalin (feat. Lil June) Produced by P-Lo – “Weirdo

Bay Area Rapper J Stalin Releases Single From Recently Released Album SID – Shining in Darkness

Critical Praise:

“As the owner of Livewire Records, West Oakland rapper J Stalin provides a place for the growth of incredibly creative, meat-and-potatoes Bay Area hip-hop. The label hosts gritty rubbery street music that navigates crack dealing devastation and grounded partying tracks with equal aplomb, with artists that range from Stalin himself to MCs like Shady Nate and Philthy Rich among others.” – SPIN

J Stalin pushes the envelope by vividly reiterating his Mob Bay Area persona and turmoil of his harsh upbringing.” – XXL

The Song:

Known for an unapologetic modus operandi, J Stalin keeps it pimpery and playerish on “Weirdo,  from his recently released SID: Shining in Darkness album. Over production from HBK Gang/The Invasion’s P-Lo, who presents his signature trunk-rattling lows, hand-claps, and catchy synth motifs, J Stalin and Lil June wax poetic about picking up bad ones and traipsing all over East Oakland with them.

“Weirdo” is the sixth single from J Stalin’s SID, which SPIN debuted week of release. Previous single releases from the album include “Fuk That,” which features Too Short and premiered on Complex, and “Another Quelo (Remix),” featuring Joey Fatts and first appearing on Noisey. In a review of the album, XXL says “J Stalin pushes the envelope by vividly reiterating his Mob Bay Area persona and turmoil of his harsh upbringing.” Recognizing that his release marks the Bay Area rapper’s 13th studio album, HipHopDX recently asked J Stalin to share his tips for cultivating a long and healthy career, which you can read here
