New Audible Treats Hip-Hop Podcast 167 Features Lyrics Born, Jahzel, Devin Miles, Wara From The NBHD, and C-Money

The Podcast:

The Audible Treats Hip-Hop Podcast pops off this week with a groovin’ new beat from critically acclaimed rapper/producer Lyrics Born. “$ir Racha” is the first single from the recently released mixtape, The Lyrics Born Variety Show Season Six, which premiered via HipHopDX. The track features a mix of LB’s good-time party Hip-Hop combined with a strong dose of NOLA funk. The mixtape dropped in anticipation of LB’s upcoming album, Real People, which is set to drop in early 2015. Next up on the docket is Chicago rapper Jahzel with his latest single, “John Stockton / Radio Raheem.” The track is the third single from his forthcoming album, The Wake Up, which provides an introspective to Jahzel’s upbringing in Northside Chicago. “John Stockton / Radio Raheem” pays tribute to NBA legend John Stockton as he ties the metaphor of Stockton’s legendary passes to himself assisting with advice for Chicago youth. Following Jahzel is the latest loosie from Steel City MC, Devin Miles. “My Table” debuted via Mass Appeal who argue that the track delivers “an atmospheric display of Devin’s ability to flow.” Staying true to the themes of his freshly released Pixburgh album, Devin spits about his experiences and the struggles of a young star to earn the respect of his city and ultimately achieve success in the rap game. Fourth on the podcast is the hard-hitting banger “Slangin'” from one of Atlanta’s realest MCs, Wara From The NBHD. Wara’s latest project is a two-part video series beginning with “Raw,” which featured Wara and his crew acting a scene from Grand Theft Auto, stealing a car in the Bronx. “Slangin'” is the anti-thesis to “Raw,” speaking on what it takes to survive in the hood and the consequences of said survival. Through a prominent bass smash and slick lyricism, Wara is able to depict the story elicited in his latest album, Kidnapped. This week’s podcast concludes with a pumpin’ club banger from Bay Area stud, C-Money. “Shut It Down” is a party anthem that features The HBK Gang rapper, Kool John, as he spits rhymes intermittently with C as the two break down their night at the club. The track is off the upcoming album, Just 4 You, which is set to drop on December 9th. This concludes the podcast for this week, stay tuned for future releases.
