MP3: Verse Simmonds – “Mona Lisa” ft. K Camp

Debuted by Complex, the Virgin Islands-Born Singer Teams Up With K Camp For Seductive Single

The Song:

Atlanta hitmakers Verse Simmonds and K Camp link for “Mona Lisa,” a seductive single where Verse finds perfection in a priceless one-of-one that he deems the latest attraction – the “Mona Lisa” – of his own artshow. K Camp quickly shows he’s also a man of the arts, comparing himself to Picasso and Michelangelo. The track is from the singer/songwriter’s forthcoming Sextape Chronicles 3 album and premiered via Complex, who said the “final result is an infectious R&B turn-up track that has club anthem potential and should easily get fans ready for what Verse Simmonds has coming in the near future.”

“I’ve known K Camp for a few years now. He’s one of my lil bros in the game – I been rocking with him before things started taking off for him so we have always been good,” the Virgin Islands-born singer/songwriter explained to Complex. “I sent the record off to Camp to record his verse while was in the road and I believe he recorded his verse in his hotel room. Nonetheless, he had it back to me by the next day!”

Verse Simmonds previously released his FVCK Your Feelings 3 mixtape, hosted by DJ Spinatik and DJ Genius. With features from Migos and Jeremih, the mixtape presents original verses from the singer/songwriter on remixes of singles from the likes of Future, Fetty Wap, Omarion and Chris Brown, among others. A go-to writer for Chris Brown, most notably contributing to his songs “New Flame” and “Drunk Texting,” the singer is also a frequent Gucci Mane in addition to being credited as a writer on K. Michelle’s “Hard To Do” and Fifth Harmony’s “Top Down.” Following his other recent single releases,Situationships and the Jeremih-assisted All I Want,” Verse Simmonds has shown that his songwriting for others can just as easily be translated into hits of his own.

Verse Simmonds Background:

Verse is in a league of his own, and called on by the best to create hits that resonate from now, until forever. No matter what he accomplishes or encounters, Verse will remain faithful to what he has been called to be, a game changer. He has worked with Jay-Z and Kanye on the Watch The Throne album, receiving a Grammy nomination because of that. He has also been called on by Justin Bieber, R. Kelly, Chris Brown, Young Jeezy, TLC, and numerous others. “My goal is to be remembered as the one who gave 100%. I want my music and anything I touch to resonate forever. It is my desire to take people back to a time, or evoke forgotten emotions, when they hear my music, because it’s so raw, honest, and real. I simply want to go in the books as one of the greatest,” is how he describes what he envisions his legacy to be. With his hands in a little bit of everything, from behind the scenes to front and center on stage, his impact will be felt all over.
